Once again there are three crystals associated with July.
Onyx - is the traditional stone. Not of gem quality but often used to make flower vases and tableware. Onyx - symbolizes strength, boldness and balance - which makes it ideal for those who like a challenge. The black variety is often used to cleanse the mind of negative energy and brings a sense of fullfillment both to work and life.
Turquoise - is the spiritual July birthstone. The name means 'Turkish'. It symbolizes peace, happiness, and calmness. Because of it's range of colours it is believed to have an affinity with the sea and to have a connection to steadiness of movement, flow and progress. The ancient Egyptians used it to heal - specifically insomia, depression and anxiety. Turquoise scores 5 -6 on the Mohs scale so it is ideal for jewellery making. It is believed to bring Good Luck and Protection to the wearer.
Ruby - a modern addition to July crystals. Scores 9 on the Mohs scale making it ideal for jewellery that is subjected to daily wear - such as rings. Ruby symbolizes Good Fortune and Wisdom, and is believed to have very strong healing powers. Because of it's glowing red colour, Ruby is seen as the stone of passion and romance which makes it a popular choice for engagement rings.

Watch the last episode of "The Lazarus Project" and have a little drink of Vodka. My first in 10 days. I hardly drink nowadays and I've been to the Gym every day last week. When I went today it was full of kids ON MY FUCKIN MACHINES!!!!! So I went for a 15 mile bike ride instead. I've dropped below a big psychological weight milestone....I'm not going to say what one....but it deserves a Vod.

School Uniform
by Randy L. McClave
Children are playing in their school uniforms
Running, jumping, swinging a childs norms,
Sympathetically you cant tell the poor child from the rich
Because, they are equal, no one knows which is which.
They all wear the same styled pants and the same colored skirts
The same designed blouses and the same printed shirts,
Unto the passerby the children are all alike
From social standards alone, they don't judge or strike.
They dont mock each other for the clothes thats worn
Because they all wear the same outfit, even if it is tattered and torn,
We see them in their uniforms as God sees our own souls
We are all equal, except for different dreams and goals.
